Simon, one of the many few Consultants/Surgeon who is so dedicated to his job, it’s unreal. I had a Gastric Bypass at the Spire Gatwick 22.02.22. All i can say, Simon is so humble and compassionate about weight loss, it shows through his tireless effort to help and support Bariatric patients. He looks after you very well with his team of Specialists. He is so engaging through Social media and available to support your queries or concerns. The dedication to this job is effortless by Simon, but he definitely puts in the work behind closed doors. He has transformed the outlook on many Bariatric patients including mine. He treats you with kindness and care. This is also continued post operatively. Words are not enough to show my gratitude to him. He was recommended to me by Professor Zoe Winters (Consultant Breast Surgeon), and I am so glad I went ahead with him. Highly recommend.
Where do I start, Simon has changed my life and I’m only 3 weeks post op. He is a truly incredible man, his loyalty, support, and care, is like no other. Simon truly cares for his patients, he is absolutely fantastic, he made me feel safe from the second I met him! I traveled from Cumbria to Gatwick to have my surgery done by Simon, two trains, two taxis and a half an hour walk, 7 long hours all in. But every single hour was worth it to have my surgery done by him and I would honestly do it again. Thank you so much Simon, I feel so honoured to have had my surgery done by you, you are just incredible and you have already changed my life! I can’t thank you enough. Your amazing!
Highly recommend Simon! So friendly and made me feel at ease. Went out of his way to help me and I’m forever grateful! Thank you so much
Mr Monkhouse has come to my rescue once again! He saved my life during an emergency operation due to a sudden bowel ischemia in 2015 and although my condition this time was no way as serious as then I did not hesitate a second to get in touch. Once I contacted him to explain that I had been admitted to hospital due to gallbladder stones and infection plus pancreatitis, Mr Monkhouse arranged an immediate call advising that he would have been more than happy to look after me..... and he has not stopped caring since. I was operated on the 12th March to have my gallbladder removed and the operation was a great success. Mr Monkhouse called my husband straight after the op to reassure him that all went well and he has checked in numerous times with me to ask how I was doing and once again he has offered his 24/7 support. He is the most knowledgeable, approachable and caring surgeon anyone could ever meet and I feel very lucky and privileged to have been under his great and amazing care. His interpersonal skills are second to none, I am sure that this means so much more than a job to him as Mr Monkhouse really cares about all his patient's wellbeing. Mr Monkhouse, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for looking after me and thank you for making me feel safe, reassured and encouraged to get better, ciao, Barbara :)
Mr Monkhouse has excellent interpersonal skills and his care and concern was obvious. He phoned my husband immediately after my operation to report on how it had gone and he rang me a few days after my discharge to see how I was. I particularly appreciated his accessibility - he was always available by email for even the most routine queries. He is very kind and extremely hard working. Should I require further treatment I would not hesitate to ask for him again.
